In spite of widespread criticism against her appointment as the Commissioner for Happiness and Purpose Fulfilment in Imo State, Mrs Ogechi Ololo has mentioned her appointment was made in order to make the individuals of the state delighted.

Ololo, also a biological sister of the state governor Rochas Okorocha, stated her ministry has a lot to provide and that her appointment must not be trivialised.

“There are also numerous individuals out there that need our service,” Ololo told BBC Africa.

“This is Imo life and I think Imolites are pretty, very satisfied about it. This is a new ministry and individuals do not fully grasp, so they have the proper to ask these concerns.”

The commissioner said she believed the purpose for the creation of the ministry will be justified with time.

Prior to her appointment as commissioner, she served as the deputy chief of staff, domestic and internal affairs, in the government.

But Ololo argued that her brother must not be accused of nepotism.

She stated, “he (Okorocha) did not develop the ministry just simply because I’m his sister.”

She insisted that the state already has in place policies in location to make sure individuals are content.

“Here, in Imo State, we have cost-free education. This policy makes individuals delighted. By paying for the children’s school charges simply means parents do not want to be concerned.

“That is a policy of happiness. That is the element of the Ministry of Happiness,” Ololo said.
